Trick-or-Treat Halloween Adapted Book
This adapted book is a great way to teach students with complex needs the basic steps and skills for Trick-or-Treating on Halloween!
The steps:
1. Wear a costume
2. Go to a house/apartment
3. Knock on the door or ring doorbell
4. Wait for the door to open
5. Say Trick or Treat
6. Get candy
7. Say thank you
8. Go to the next house
I use this activity every year with my classroom to practice waiting, taking turns, and communication skills as we get ready for Halloween. All students deserve to participate in community events and have the skills to trick or treat with their friends/family.
